The Health + Wellness Working Group
💪 All the details about the vitality of your most precious investment
Hello! Welcome to the Health + Wellness Working Group. This is a subsection of the KmikeyM Mailing List, which means you can opt-out of updates about control and influence of my health but keep getting the big important general updates.
Note: You can opt in or out of receiving emails for each section on your account page.
The Health + Wellness Working Group was created last month with 94% shareholder approval. Since then I’ve been… not really doing much about my health, but that changes today!
I feel pretty healthy, but I haven’t been to any doctor in many, many years. I would like to blame the pandemic but I think it was 2017 in Portland the last time I went.
Important Notes:
🗳️ Health + Wellness has its own voting subsection.
📁 Details, updates, and reports are currently being saved here.
💬 Discussion happens in the #proj-health channel of Slack.
First Vote: Talkspace
Should I try Talkspace? App based startup therapy seems… less effective? Or something. Maybe I’m just being a luddite. I mean, it’s free, what do I have to lose?

🧠 Mental Health: I realized this week that I’m frustrated and a little depressed. I feel like all I did was work this week and I found myself very frustrated by some aspects of my job. Not just frustrated, but angry at times. I was able to talk to some friends about this and get some perspective over the weekend, but I do have a lot my self esteem wrapped up in my job.
Having been deep in “startup life” before, I know there will be crunch times, but working 60+ hours a week limits my ability to exercise, socialize, read and just generally be a good and happy person. I do not buy in to the “grind” culture that is sold as a path to success in work. Working over 40 hours is a sign that something is wrong.
