One Pair of Sunglasses

New Sunglasses
Remember when I put up a vote for new glasses a few years ago? Well, I didn’t get any new glasses. Then, with my birthday coming up, Kathryn bought me a used but in great condition pair of my classic Tom Ford’s. So that vote is now ruined.
However, I have set up a new vote for which style of prescription sunglasses to get.
This is not a small decision!
I know “style of sunglasses” seems like a small thing, but living in Los Angeles this has a lot of impact on how I present myself. Sunglasses are worn year-round here, often more than any other single item of clothing, and they are on my face. They’re not just functional because no nothing is simply function. Any choice, even the attempt to not make a choice, is a statement. Choosing aviators vs. Wayfarers vs. wraparounds communicates an expectation. A style can lean classic, creative, or high-performance.
To make things efficient the vote will be for the general style leaving me with some room to find the exact right brand at the right price. Read more about it all here.

M.I.K.E. is now M.I.K.E.
We’ve been working on re-developing the VTAC tattoo protocol as MIKE, and we’ve secured a launch partner. Shareholder Douglas Dollars will be the first client of MIKE, and we’ve been working on a proposal for the new system.
So far the most radical idea is to change the “Mark” of MIKE to “Mutual” and make it a joint tattoo effort. I like that more than just an endorsement, this forever links the two parties in permeant ink. It doesn’t have to be the exact same image, but the idea is that there would be at least a matching theme.
We should have the details figured out soon and ready for Shareholder approval!
What Else?
💪 I’ve been on a bit of a fitness journey recently. Fitness is counter to my tendency to do something “all the way” but for not that long. I like to over-commit and then burn myself out. This time I’m trying to slow down. So I’m three weeks into what feels like a sustainable plan. If you take weights, nutrition, or just general health seriously I started a new #health channel in the Discord and would love to talk about it.
📺 I just finished watching the Righteous Gemstones on HBO and I haven’t been as sad about the end of a show since Detroiters. In both shows I just loved hanging out with the characters! Now we’re deeply into the second season of The Rehearsal, which is shaping up to be one of the greatest shows I’ve ever seen.
🟨 And for fellow Playdate owners, have you pre-ordered the Season 2 of games? It’s $39 and you they release two games a week for six weeks starting on May 29th so everyone is playing the same games together. I’m looking forward to it!
