🔥 Fired Up!
exciting news, including a new auction of shares!
Many of you have heard by now that I was fired from my job at Roll. While I was very surprised by this I was also immediately relieved as I developed a terrible relationship with my boss. I believe I was let go because I did not like, trust, or respect him and as much as I tried to remain professional I am sure some of that came through. It’s been a tough couple of months.
The official reason I was given was that the company is going to develop a more sales-driven strategy. Rather than someone building community he wants someone who is a “hunter” and wants to “get meat,” which is not only clearly not me but also very gross.
So I am fired, but I am also FIRED UP! 🔥🔥🔥 Let’s talk about why!
The Publicly Traded Man & Kevin Sign a Literary Agent
First off, congrats to my co-author Kevin who has been granted 25 shares as part of the incentives around writing my memoirs. We had a great meeting with book agent Kirby Kim of Janklow & Nesbit Associates and he has agreed to represent us! We now begin the task of writing a book proposal!
KmikeyM + web3 Fit Together Nicely
I know I have some crypto-skeptics as shareholders, and I hope to keep them as a counter balance to my excitement about web3. To me the difference between “crypto” and “web3” is that crypto is a technology and web3 is a cultural shift.
I know it’s early, and it might all get co-opted by Pepsi at some point, but right now I really want to spend more time with decentralized communities, DAOs, and people doing interesting things.
I’m going to spend some time in the space and look for new opportunities.
A New Auction of Shares
In order to position myself to best take advantage of what is next I’m auctioning off some shares. The goal is to raise $5000+ so that I can spend a few months exploring new opportunities. Find more details about the auction here and then go make a bid:
2022 Shareholder Conference - TBD
We are working on plans for the 2022 Shareholder Conference which will happen in late May or early June. We will have the return of the Charity Poker Game and some additional programming that is still in the works!
🙏 A special thanks to those who have been supportive about the job stuff! I want to let people know that I am happy to be done with that environment and am very excited about what is next. One of the reasons I want to be open about being fired is to not be ashamed about it and to let anyone who is in a shitty workplace that it’s not worth it, and I’m here if you want to talk and plot about how to get out of it.
I feel like the rest of this year is going to be pretty interesting and I’m excited to share the ups and downs with you.
